Credit Card Processing :

Credit Cards are made of plastic and it is issued by the banker or credit unions to the customer in making payments. It allows the customer to purchase or withdrew cash at anytime with a promise to repay the amount in future. For this the customer should open with an account in bank. Only then, the credit card will be sponsored. After opening the account, the card holder will be provided with line of credit for certain dollar amount. On the terms and conditions of card, the holder should pay the interest charges.

Procedure after credit card is swiped :

  • After the purchase is made by the card holder, he agrees to pay the amount to the card issuer.

  • The Card holder should sign an receipt that contains the details of card, such as amount to be paid and personal identification numbers, etc.,

  • The card is verified by the merchants using electronic verification systems to know whether the card is valid or the card contains enough of balance for purchase.

  • The verification is done by a system called credit card payment terminal or by POS (Point of scale)

  • In case when the credit card is not present, such as ( telephonic sales, orders, etc.,) the merchant asks for additional details like billing address, the code printed on the card and the expiry date etc., to make sure that the card is properly authorized.

  • The card holder will receive a statement on monthly basis regarding the purchases that are undergone using the card in order to pay the interest.
